Compression fittings on 8mm gas pipe?

by TONYTONE » Mon Jul 28, 2008 12:05 pm

Hey,

I took some skirting board off last night in my front room to find an 8mm gas pipe. The pipe was obviously intended for the front fire but what concerned me most is that it had an isloation valve and then a blanking cap both of which were compression fittings. Is compression fitting on gas allowed?

Cheers in advance guys.

Yes compression fittings are allowed - but should be accessible eg not hidden behind skirting boards.
