Hello, I would like to ask a question about building a concrete shed base including damp proof membrane as described in this website. It is mentioned to lay 25mm of soft building sand between the scalpings and the polythene damp proof membrane. Wouldn't that make the base unstable as the concrete on top will not lay directly on the compacted scalpings but on a layer of soft sand? Wouldn't the concrete tilt if there is more weight on one side as it will "dig in" the soft sand?
