Concrete shed base - ok to leave tree stump?

by Jnix » Fri Apr 19, 2024 2:06 pm

We're going to put down a concrete base for a new shed.

We've recently had a conifer tree cut down on the area - the stump is about 300mm across, about 50mm above the surface, and near the middle of the base area.

We're having trouble getting someone with a stump grinder to come and get it below ground level. So just wondering - would it be ok to lay the concrete base over the top/around the stump?

Hi jnix,
You would do better digging it out but you could encase it in concrete but expect cracks in the stump area.
