Connection between a new meter box and consumer unit.

As part of a new extension we'll be installing a flush mounted external meter box according to our electricity suppliers recommendations. My electrician will need to bring two double insulated tails and an earth into the house to connect to the new consumer unit. The new consumer unit will be on the inside wall opposite and above the external meter box. i.e. less than 2m away.
Can the tails/earth cables be brought up through the wall cavity to make the connection?

Yes but ideally if having insulation in cavity, particularly expanded foam type need to take steps to keep insulation from contact with pvc cable as chemical 'deplasticisation' can adversly affect cable, if poss. a lengh of 32mm plastic waste could be used as 'conduit' up cavity, regards SPARX
