Constructing a single leaf building in lightweight blocks All manner of questions and solutions to problems and issues surrounding the subject of brickwork, blockwork and stonework

I am proposing to construct an outbuilding/workshop with a single leaf block wall construction. Is it possible to use lightweight 100mm blocks for the walls - 3.7m long x 2m high? One source has suggested the wall will be too thin. I am not convinced. The roof will be constructed of timber rafters and lightweight sheet cladding.

Light weight blocks are amazing, you can buy blocks suitable for building four story houses/offices without an added frame. Some of these blocks can carry high loads. However, the design of a safe to use building doesn't end there.
You need to take into account things like exposure to the wind, you don't want your roof to disappear up the road.
Talk to your local council and take their advice.
