Cost of Sealed Double glazed clear glass unit

by umeshk » Sat Dec 15, 2007 11:10 pm

Hi,
What would roughly be the cost of replacing the sealed .double glazed clear glass unit of size 950mm by 770mm. I have had a quote of £100 + VAT. Is this reasonable. Are all sealed units the same or would the quality differ

Thank you

Hi,
How old are the windows? If they were put in in the last four years or so they may be argon filled? If so and you have had a quote like for like then that is quite reasonable, however if they are standard double glazed units
then this is quite expensive! Are they ali or plastic windows?

Hope this helps!

Cost of Sealed Double glazed clear

Hi,
I reckon the windows are upto 10 years old. They certainly haven't been fitted in the last 4 years. They are all made of white uPvc material and about 16mm thick (24mm in all including glass).

Thanks

if you was in the area i work this unit supplied and fitted (if it is normal glass e.g. not toughend) would cost you

£73.15 this will give you a general idea and of course the need to shop around
