CUTTING BEECH WORKTOPS

by vroooOOOM » Tue Mar 09, 2010 8:42 pm

I have a u shape kitchen so I have 3 tops to fit, i noticed the old worktop was fitted with female joint on left side top with the centre having a mail wwhich butted into it yet at the other end of the center top it had a female joint, it looked ok as the top was laminated, but as I intended to fit solid beech tops should the cenre top have female cuts at both ends with the 2 side having male joints? this would make the blocked section look equal on both sides, or would this be incorrect.

Any help appreciated.

EDIT:
Just unpacked on of the worktops and fitting advice is to but joint, does this mean I will not need to use a router?
