Damaged internal brickwork around window frame and how to repair gaps

by mataus » Sun Mar 06, 2016 11:25 am

Hi,

I've started refurbishing a rear bedroom of my house that I purchased a year ago. I've removed loose plaster around a bay window frame, but loose bricks and chunks of mortar fell out from the side of the frame. I'm not planning on replacing the windows until next year, but I need to find the best way to repair the gaps in the pictures so I can re-anchor the frames, re-plaster and finish the room off.

Any help most appreciated.

Thanks
matt

forgot to add this picture. Shows a gap at the sill around a brick deep and is the same both side of the wall/frame.

the easiest way is to use expanding foam, just fill in the holes and cut the excess off when its set. It will also anchor the frame in position

Seems like a big gap! You can fill the hole by doing re-plaster.
