Damp issues inside wall between kitchen and toilet

by JennyLaslo » Sun Dec 29, 2024 10:51 am

Hello, thanks in advance for all appreciated help.

I have a stud wall partition. From a leak, filth and suspected mould has grown on the toilet side. A plumber is going to knock the box end of that, bleach it down and put in a new sink and toilet. On the kitchen side, the wall and the wooden flooring (with 39 year old carpet beneath it) is starting to show the water damage, and since I opened up the wood more to take a look I've suffered from respiratory issues whenever entering the kitchen.
As it's new year I don't want to wait for a labourer to come in and fix it. Ideally tomorrow I'd like to buy whatever equipment is necessary and knock this wall in and clear whatever is in the partition between the kitchen and the toilet that is causing the issues. Gameplan advice and things to watch out for are most appreciated.

(I hastily taped up the gaps forming in an attempt to slow down, along with keeping windows and backdoor open for 15 minutes a day).

Has this tile collapsed out from the water damage? Any advice on what to do about it?
