We own a shop which is used as a barbers it is about a hundred years old .

On a couple of internal walls they are quite damp ,but there doesnt appear to any reason for this as the damp is not rising up its confined to the middle of the walls .The shop is part of a terrace on a main road .
Any help would be appreciated .

Hi,

It is always very difficult to diagnose damp problems from a post. However, I have seen rising damp on several occasions where a chemical injection dpc has been installed, the plaster hacked off and replaced up to 1m and then after a while a line of damp appears above the replaced plaster.

This has then been hacked off and replaced.

Not sure if that's of any use.

it could be a leaking pipe or waste pipe.If its a cavity wall then the problem could be a leak on the roof penitrating through to the cavity.
you could paint the wall with a buitumin paint and clad over it with tiles, pvc,wood,or laminate flooring
