Dedicated Water Supply for Pumped Shower

by mako » Tue Mar 20, 2007 11:02 pm

I have a combi boiler which supplies my hot water and central heating. I would really like to have a good power shower and am considering whether or not this is feasible (read affordable) as I am about to replace my double shower with a bath/shower.

In order to drive a dedicated pump I realise that I must feed hot & cold water from a tank supply. I am currently thinking along the lines of using an electrically heated storage tank of some kind and have come accross the 'opal' unit from Elson www.elsonhotwater.co.uk which is also available as the 'twin storage' system. This includes a cold tank (115litres) and a hot tank 'opal' (upto 225litres).

Would this type of system work to drive a shower twin pump (Stuart Turner or similar)?

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

TIA

Dan
