Hi, Can you tell me what is the minimum thickness of stud wall + insullation I need do, (to conform with building regs) to the external single block walls of my garage. I want to turn it into a dining room, however it is quite narrow, and want to utilise as much space as I can.

Also what is the minimum room height requirements, (floor to ceiling) as I may have to raise the floor a few inches to insulate the floor.

consult building inspector first to ok any alteration to your property
but you can use an insulating plasterboard,its 12.5mm thick with 50mm
poystyrene stuck to it ,there are other types of insulation but are a lot more expensive.
But checkif its ok to use it first.
You can use dry wall adhesive to stick the boards so the thickness on the wall is 75mm.
For the floor use 50mm kingspan and lay t&g floorboards on top.
same again 75mm thick.
But check with building control.

Def check with building regs in your area as I have just done the same job and they specified 100mm Kingspan for the floor and wall insulation, polystyrene was a no no
