Does a 2 way Switch Ceiling Rose Sound Right?

by redterrier » Sat Oct 07, 2017 2:13 pm

First up, I'm not very clued up about anything electrical and am a new homeowner. I've read a bit online to learn stuff but that's about it. So go easy on me I f this is dumb question!

I was going to replace a light fitting but having taken the old one down (power turned off) I see the following wiring on the ceiling rose (this light has 2 switches to control it). I've added an image but it's basically the expected neutral and live blocks wired to the lamp bit (live to lamp removed in the pic) what is confusing me is there is just the one live feed into the live block and for neutral there are 4 wires (2 in each block connection).

This doesn't seem to make sense in my head as to how this works. It clearly does and suspect it's been like this for years. Just wondered if it looked right or has there anything odd or potentially dangerous about it. I'll probably just get an electrician in as that's my rule if in doubt with stuff like this. More just curious at the moment and trying to learn a bit more about this kind of thing too.

Thanks

The two way bit goes switch to switch and in most cases has nothing to do with lamp.
