My first reply disappeared in the DIY doctor ether so here it is again.
If the door frame is timber, remove the lockplate, enlarge the recesses towards the seal strip and refit the lockplate so it is closer to the seal.
If the door is Aluminium or upvc the lock plate should be sloppy enough (once the fixing screws are slackened) to allow you to make the same adjustment. If the door is good quality you may find excentric cams behind the lockplate fixing screws and adjusting these will move the lockplate.
