I am about to fit a hotpoint DY46X double oven into a tower unit to replace a single oven. i have made all the necessary adjustments re shelving/replacement lower cabinet door etc.

The oven is rated 5.3kw. I was intending replace the fused 13A switch which the single oven was connected to with a 45A cooker switch which is connected to a 6mm2 cable running back to the consumer unit to a 32a rated MCB.

I intend to use 6mm2 cable to connect up the new oven to the cooker switch

Just wanted to double check this was the correct setup???

You write down as you have done what you intend to do but also include the ELI figures and PSC figures etc. You submit this to local authority building control and pay their fees of over £100 then once authorised you do work and re-test then submit the form to LABC who may accept or may wish to test themselves then they will issue a completion certificate.

However because of the LABC charges it will be cheaper to employ a scheme registered electrician who can issue their own completion certificate.
