Dowel jig Needed for use With Material 45mm or More Thickness

by GeorgeMorgan » Mon Jan 21, 2019 5:26 pm

Hi, looking to buy a (fairly inexpensive) dowel jig, there are loads of different makes all with varying reviews online from various sources ... But the only one it seems, with the min and max material thickness outlined in the spec, is the Wolfcraft one and this is only for material up to 30mm (or 38 or something can’t remember). I want one that will work on material 45mm thick - ideally more. Any info would be great. Thanks

looks like you're going to have to make one
many video's on Youtube how to make a dowel jig
Look at drawing I did attached if it worked. Its surprising what you can find on Youtube when you need some assistance.not covered elsewhere.

also check out the 'door buck' a support for working on doors fitting hinges or locks and other uses.
