Down lights in plastic cladding ceiling

by raye » Sun Feb 22, 2009 12:04 am

can anybody tell me the correct type of down light to use in a plastic cladding ceiling- the plastic can stand 60c and there is at least 6 inches of space between cladding and the original plaster ceiling
can i use halogen or must it be LED

Hi raye,
The best advise I could offer is to check manufacturers instruction or recommondations. If the plastic cladding can only maintain a heat source of 60c or less. I'd be thinking along the lines of LED's or low energy luminaires. I can only assume that you are thinking of using downlighting rather than the pendant type. If the pendant type was used this would disapate less heat around the plastic especailly if the luminance was directed downwards.
