I recently removed the ceiling rose from our downstairs hall light intending to replace it with a new one, foolishly not noting how it was wired in. I have now put the new rose up but the downstairs hall light is now permanently on,
The switch controlling the light also controls the upstairs hall light (which is also controlled by another switch upstairs). I have tried many different permutations of wiring but I cannot get this to work.
I have uploaded a picture of the wiring.
If I swap the black wire second from left with the black wire third from right the light is still permanently on.
If I swap the black wire second from left with the black wire second from right the circuit trips before I even turn the switch on.
Clearly there is a way to wire it which will work as it did before but it is beyond me.
Any advice is much appreciated!
