drain system under extension

hi, i planning to do an extension on to the back of my house. I'm looking for some advise regarding the drainage system that runs a long the back of the house, do we need to reroute the system around the new extension, if so any idea's on how much. many thanks dean smith

Re-routing a drain is not as simple as it sounds because you may not be able to maintain the necessary fall.

You need to speak to Building Control and check with the planning office as each are has different rules about what is required. If the drain is shared, there may be even more problems and you will have to contact the local water authority for their approval.
