Drilling breezeblocks?

by Novice2004 » Sat Jul 21, 2007 6:41 pm

I am trying to put up a new curtain pole. It would seem that there are breezeblocks behind the plaster (which I have just had skimmed) No amount of drilling seems to make the hole deep enough to put a decent size rawlplug in it. I have tried cutting the rawlplug down and now I have cracked my new plaster! Any ideas? :(

hI, It sounds like you are drilling into a concrete lintel which supports the brick or breeze blocks above the windows. To drill this you will need a SDS drill and drill bit. You could try fitting the curtain pole higher up if you can, this may allow you to drill the brick or breeze blocks which will be easier to drill.
