Driveway drainagei advice

by renfrew999 » Sun Aug 15, 2021 5:04 pm

I'm planning out a new driveway and looking at putting in a soakaway for run off. The garden slopes towards the pavement which is ideal and i plan to put in a channel drain however it also has a slight fall from left to right, towards the boundary wall. I guess there isn't a problem with running the drainage pipe back under the driveway to a soakaway on the lawn? Also, is it sufficient to use the boundary wall to direct the rainwater towards the drainage channel at the end of the driveway without having to install a further drainage channel against the boundary wall (ie having an L shaped drainage channel)? Hope that all makes sense!

Hi renfrew999
If you are going to direct water run off from the drive along the boundary wall you must add a channel otherwise water may undermine the boundary wall foundations.
