drylining/dot and dab

hi. my bathroom and kitchen walls are tiled floor to ceiling in 6in tiles, could i dot and dab plasterboard over the top of these tiles or would i need to remove the tiles then plaster the walls?

You could providing, tiles are well stuck and not loose, but i'd rip them off and start a fresh.
