Hey was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue i have at home basically came home one night to turn on living room lights and i turned the dimmer switch on and it went pop.There are two seperate lights each consisting of three spot lights and each is contacted to one double dimmer switch.I have looked at all the fuses and seem fine and i have replaced them all to be on safe side and still no lights i then replaced dimmer switch to see if that was a problem still no lights any ideas?

You have done all tests, but may be able to narrow it down a bit. Normally one or two fuses for all lights so removing a fuse should make other lights stop working and replacing it should allow them to work again thus proving the fuse is OK.
There is a lighting bit in projects that may help. Look at history, have you replaced a fitting etc. Where people remove ceiling roses and shove the cables into ceiling space with multi-wires in one block connector instead of original one wire one hole of ceiling rose this gives a higher probability or lose cables and one popping out. The same applies to where switches have been changed where the cores are not really long enough and without test gear only way is to physical check the wires. Don’t rely on anything being correct. Switch off everything at main switch first before carefully tugging at any wires. Do remember the lights are wired as a radial, and it could be the light before the one not working that has the fault. Do look at projects one picture is worth a 1000 words. If not sure call an electrician.
