energy saving bulbs or fluorescent tubes?

by simbad » Sat Feb 20, 2010 12:25 pm

hi, in my garage i have, at the moment, fluorescent tubes x2

would it be more cost effective to replace the tubes with energy saving bulbs?

my normal use for the garage is simple i just switch on for just enough time to put the car in/out.

thanks

Same thing. Most so called energy saving bulbs are fluorescent tubes. Although there are two ways to control them. Inductive and high frequency. The HF units are much better than old inductive but other than that they are same.

Price of changing and cost to environment for very short time used means likely best left as it is.
