Erecting a canopy - working out loading

by tjohndavies » Tue May 31, 2011 9:30 pm

I suspect that Building Regs will want me to supply calculations confirming the gallows bracket and eaves member for the canopy I am hoping to erect.

Anyone know how I work this out? The canopy is 1.07 metres away from the wall, roof 7m long 1.08 approx 35 degrees with 4" x 3" gallows brackets and 3" x 2" rafters, roofed in reclaimed slate. At the one end it forms the roof of the porch which will be approx 1.50 m wide. There are three gallows brackets equally spaced.

Thanks
