Expanding foam around wiring to fill hole

by Pangloss83 » Fri Feb 12, 2021 4:51 pm

Hello,

I need to fill a whole in the wall where grey power cables lead into the extractor fan above our cooler. Can I use expanding foam to do this or is this a no around wiring? If the latter, what are the alternatives please? The whole is about 2 inches squared. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Oliver

Hi pangloss83
Assuming the cables are only feeding an extractor there should be no issues with heat build-up if you foam fill the hole. You could move the cables to one side of the hole and then fill.
