Expansion gap too big on new laminate floor

by wibbler » Thu Jan 08, 2009 10:43 pm

I have laid laminate flooring with an expansion gap around the outside. As I ran out of plastic gap holders, I have to guestimate the space, and unfortunately in several place the gap is actually between 2 and 2.5cm (i know, I'm not a natural DIYer...!).

All the scotia trim I can find is just under 2cm deep, which is not going to work. Is there any deeper trim I can use to cover the expansion gap?! Could I use something like this:

wibbler,
Get to a timber merchant and have a look at the sections they have to offer. If you have not put furniture on the floor you may be able to move the whole floor over to reduce the problem.
