External composite door

by oaplumber » Sat Dec 03, 2011 12:57 pm

The newly fitted door has been fitted flush with the face of the external brickwork. Looks terrible. Fitter didn't cut skirting back 2 or 3 inches to 'rebate ' door inside opening. The door opens inwards. Is there a regulation re. this or is it just rough work.?

He should have positioned it flush with the back of the brick face,But by your explaination sounds like he fitted the door in the same position as the last one.
There is a building standard stating that the back of the door frame sits against the vertical dpc.

Thanks.... you're correct , I should have said previous door was opening outwards. Wall is solid 9'' brick .
