so ive recently had an external tap installed and the builder hasn't done the cleanest of jobs, the brick got broken as he was drilling through the wall, and said this couldn't be avoided as he couldn't drill the other way and interally there was pipework.
anwya, the plate that is mounted, for two of the holes, the plugs go in where the brick is chipped. he's left the tap like this and i was wondering if the gap is anythign to worry about and if so, how to seal it. i'm worried that over time water might in and cause issues further down the line. ive had a quick discussion with chatgpt which suggested filling with tourpret and then putting some external waterproof sillicone, and wanted to check if this is the right advice? the builder originally said he'd come back and cement it, but i'm not sure he's going to return anytime soon. if i do fill it, is it best to remove the plate and fill, or just try to squeeze cement into the gap. from my experience of using cement, its not quite as flexible as fillers you can use interally.
