External woodwork decoration and preservation

by archaeopteryx » Tue Jun 29, 2010 10:46 am

We've a relatively old house with lots of external woodwork that's in need of decoration and preservation. Can anyone recommend a wood treatment that would be compatible with over 100yr of previous remedies, and that will help it last for the future ? Many thanks,

Archy

Dont need to treat wood. Just keep it safe from the elements by painting it every few years. Give it a scrape and a sand then undercoat and gloss. Or stain varnish what ever your wood is coated in. Filling any damaged areas as you go.
