Hi,
I am considering building fitted bunk beds in my daughters room. The space is quite tight - 1740mm x 960mm (short I know, but she's only three) - so I thought a fitted 'floating' style bunk bed would be the best option. I was planning on building a bed base and then fixing the base securely to the walls. I'm sure I can build a sturdy base, but wondered if anyone could advise me on how to clad/strengthen the walls in order to securely support it? The walls are bog standard plasterboard fixed to stud walls in a 5 year old Barratt's house (so probably rubbish quality). I thought about using plywood or similar to clad the walls to effectively form a frame and then fix the base to it. This seems like it would be a solid enough, but I'm sure someone can put me right and maybe offer a better idea.
Thanks
Matt
