fitting combi boiler

by john_lumb » Fri Aug 31, 2007 8:35 am

Can someone pls clarify: I'm working to a tight budget and feel competent enough to fit a combi boiler, obviously without connecting the gas or flue as that needs a Corgi engineer. Is it illegal to do all the other bits of installation, eg remove old boiler, connect to rads, water supply, fit themostat etc. Do you feel this would significantly reduce installation costs? Any advice would be appreciated.

installing a combi boiler

What seems like a cheaper option at the start is not always the case. First job that needs done is the removal of the old boiler which means disconnecting the gas, this must only be carried out by a corgi registered engineer. Best idea is to shop around for quotes and dont be embarrased to ask for corgi I.D.
