Hi All. We moved house recently to one with a lovely solid wood walnut wood kitchen work top. It was clear that the previous owners hadn't overly well cared for the work top so after a bit of research I set about sanding out some of the scratches before re-oiling. Most websites I read recommend using a 180 grit sanding paper which I used but now the areas I've sanded even after oiling are very obvious and feel much smoother. They don't seem to "receive" oil. Have I sanded too fine and if so should I re-sand these areas with a coarser grit paper? Any tips gratefully received!!!
