flat roof question

by donnyt » Sun Mar 07, 2010 11:15 am

hello guys

I have just built a 2 storey extension and am putting a flat roof on it, can anyone tell me if its possible to do a warm roof construction without having an upstand ?

and also if I go with the cold roof system do I need to have a wall plate or can I sit the joists on top of the block work ?

thanks

donnyt,
Because of the depth of the insulation for a warm roof you will probably have to have an upstand.
It is better to have a timber wall plate so you can fix the rafters in position.
end
