Floorboards in bedrooms!

by rappo » Mon May 26, 2008 11:04 am

Hi all,

I have recently removed the skanky carpets, underlay and paper dust sheets from all the bedrooms in my new house to reveal the floorboards. My house is only 15 years old and as you will know is fitted with the standard hard board flooring screwed into place.

My question is: before I re-carpet do I need to replace the paper dust sheeting before the underlay and can anyone advise me on how to upgrade this type of bedroom flooring before carpet?

Dave

Paper dust sheet? I suspect it's an underlayment for the carpet underlay.

No you don't.

What does "upgrade" mean? Difficult to advise what you are asking if you don't explain what you are wanting to do.

As you've posted in Tiles and Tiling are you planning to tile the floor? Lots of advice for this but please confirm first.

Cheers
