Hi The frost stat is there to protect the boiler, if the temp goes below a set temp about 5-7 degrees it will switch the boiler on so that it will protect it from frost damage. If it is not in the way I would leave it.

Hi thanks for replying, do you think it might be causing my pump/boiler to switch on/off itself when not timed to do so and is there a way to test it ? I

Hi Yes that well could be it, try turning it down as low as it will go, and see if this stops the boiler coming on/off as often.
Hi there, I turned the frost thermostat to minimum (it was at 5 degrees) and the problem with my self igniting boiler/pump has been ok up to now. many thanks
