Fuse box and washer/dryer in same room? Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

My fuse box is currently mounted at head height in a standard 4ft by 3ft cupboard/room. Can I also place a washer/dryer in this space or would safety regulations prohibit this?
