Garage brickwork - how might I improve this?

by Temmy » Mon Apr 13, 2020 5:52 pm

Hey folks,

I want to improve the interior of my garage to turn it into a functional workshop. The construction of it is something of a joke in my village. The story is the builder (old owner of the house) only had a 6 inch level...and the brickwork is full of holes and cracks.

Here's what I've got to work with;

This structure only needs to last a few more years because I intend to have it knocked down and rebuilt as an extention. That being the case, it doesn't feel like it's worth getting it all repointed.

What I'd like to do is just get some thick paint on to cover everything up. Any recommendations?

You know what, I'm going to go ahead and learn how to repoint on this. It's the interior of a garage...good place to practice!

Cool, good option to go for - we have a project page on repointing that might also help you: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/P ... ckwork.htm

Hope this helps
