getting electric out to the garage.

by turrett » Tue Sep 01, 2009 1:30 pm

I would like to put electric heating into my existing double garage.. I have basic electric supply out there but need to upgrade in order to run the 6kw heater which will heat the radiators.
I am told that I will need armoured cable capable of taking at least 24 amp.. but who do you wire the cable up . I assume you would need a comsumer unit. Can anyone recommend which type ..

thanks .

1)Basic electrical supply? what is it?
2)Is the garage part of the house or detached?
3)What is your basic supply, suppling?
4)and has this supply got a garage CU or connected straight to CU in house?
5) are you aware of part p requirements?
