Hi, very new to this site and looking for a bit of guidance or diagnosis. My wife sent me some pictures this morning of the wall on our stair case that seems to have developed a few what looks like grease stains overnight. Does anyone have any idea? We currently have our house up for sale so potentially not good timing!

Just to update you all if you've been scratching your head wondering what it could be...it turns out the Mrs walked down stairs squirting an air freshener and didn't realise she was squirting it at the wall instead of the floor!!!!!
