Gurgling soakaway drain

Post by ajo » Sun Nov 11, 2007 2:27 pm

Can anyone shed light on this please....I have a rainwater soakaway drain in my garden (which has no access to the soakaway section) which takes all the rainwater from one side of the house, and recently the drain which the rainwater feeds into (the 'trap') has started to gurgle intermitently but regularly. I'm trying to figure out what is causing air to come back up the underground pipe to cause this gurgling, and how to solve the problem. Any ideas please? Many thanks.

Just extend the down pipe below the water level of the drain.

It should stop it happening

Hi !
i HAVE A SOAK AWAY DRAIN IN THE BACK GARDEN WHICH IS TOTALLY BLOCKED.
THIS DRAIN TAKES WATER FROM THE MAIN HOUSE ROOF AND ALSO THE GARAGE ROOF - SO A LOT OF WATER IN A DOWN POUR.
AS DRAIN IS BLOCKED, THIS CAUSES FLOODING TO THE GARDEN PATIO AREA.
ANY IDEAS ON WHAT CAN BE DONE TO CLEAR THIS SOAK AWAY - THANKS
