Hi all
I have a problem with my small header tank in the loft, it overflows all day long,I have seen warm/hot water going into it from a pipe coming up and over into the tank.
Which way does the ballco** need to be bent too keep the water level down???
I have an old back boiler which heats the hot water and the rads, the rads seem to get air in them as well.
Also the hot water tap is very very slow in the bathroom sink upstairs but the bath hot water runs really well.
could someone please advise me on these problems please.

Hi,

The arm needs to be bent downwards as you look from the top.
The basin tap guts need replacing approx £10.

The water is coming from your expansion pipe on your central heating system and it is this which is causing the overflow. You need to get your heating system and boiler checked by a central heating fitter. As for your tap, they can usually be repaired by taking apaprt and lubricating and replacing defective washers etc., otherwise renew these parts as advised by Steve the Gas.
