I have recently had a new dual-fuel range cooker installed. It fits exactly where the old one was, between kitchen units with floor-to-ceiling end panels either side of the cooker. My problem is that this one has 7 gas rings where the old one only had 5. This means that the rings at each end of the new cooker are much nearer the end of the cooker itself. I am very worried that the gas flame from the burners at the very end, particularly with a pan on top, will damage the end panels of the units, which are now very close to the burners.
My question is - can anyone recommend some sort of heat-resistant material I can install onto the end panels to protect them? It must not be very thick because there isn't much space, and it must not look too bad or my wife will throw a wobbly.
