Help and advice on choosing a new drill

by RichTea » Tue Aug 04, 2020 2:25 pm

Hi,

My old drill, which was very cheap and not really up to much, has finally given up. The battery no longer holds any charge. So I’m looking to buy a replacement.

I’m not a DIY enthusiast, but I do like to have the right tool to hand when needed. Saying this, I want to be sensible on the price and know people I can borrow tools from for a one off job. I’m thinking something around the £50 mark, good value for money and possibly some accessories to help build up my tool box.

The type of things I’ve done in the past 12 months include building a play house, putting up some heavy duty hooks to hold a roof box to the garage wall, mounting a hose reel to the outside wall and putting up an ironing board hanger. I’d imagine I’d use it once a month on average and for things similar to the above. I’m also moving house soon, so that will bring with it plenty of new use cases I’m sure.

So far I have a short list of 3...

Thanks!
