help needed insulating vellux windows

by nickknacks » Thu Jun 25, 2026 3:20 pm

Hi

I work in a box room with 2 vellux windows, and although ive got portable AC it's still not great at cooling down the whole room.

Ive installed reflective film on the windows but it doesnt seem to help much. When I put my hands to against the windows they're like radiators!

I was wondering if there was some kind of insulation board that I could fit over the windows when the weather gets hot?

any help very much appreciated
thanks
Nick

Hi nickknacks,
Possibly the easiest way to reduce your heat issue is to fit external blinds to the veluxs, you’ll have to check that compatible blinds are available - your blind model number will be on the closing edge of the window.
