I have these primitive double-glazed units in my attic windows.

I don't even think they have gas within them.

What are they known as please?

They are just double glazing sealed units. If you are replacing them make sure you comply with glass and glazing regulations.

No, it’s a double glazing unit, if you are buying a replacement you will have to specify size and overall thickness.
