Hello! 

I've got an virus or spyware in my PC 

Now my computer is really slow and shows various pop-ups and stuff, what to do and how to get rid of them?

I really would like to get some help because my PC is full of very important family pictures and stuff.

Viruse name is TJ.Worm32.Heurestic

section of this website. they may be able to advise
computer shops offer good advice , before u buy.

what software is detecting this virus?

a quick google of TJ.Worm32.Heurestic only shows the various post you have made in regards to it! which would suggest that warning is fake and cause by some software you have installed.

I have used avg free (Google avg.com)and also Norton much depends on your operating system. The Anti-virus I tried to use on MEPIS Linux crashed the whole system so one does have to be careful.

Kaspersky is currently the best security suite you can get. I am running version 7.01 but I do believe 8.0 (2009) has been released this month (sept 08)

I use and have used for the past 3 years avg free version and it is very good and it does a complete virus scan of your computer from time to time and removes any unwanted trojans or viruses if you wish

I note I have something called ClamAV on my Mepis operating system not a clue how it works it says:-
antivirus scanner for Unix
Clam AntiVirus is an anti-virus toolkit for Unix. The main purpose of this
software is the integration with mail servers (attachment scanning). The
package provides a flexible and scalable multi-threaded daemon in the
clamav-daemon package, a commandline scanner in the clamav package, and a tool
for automatic updating via Internet through the clamav-freshclam package. The
programs are based on libclamav2, which you can use in your own software.

This package contains the command line interface. It has:
* built-in support for RAR (2.0), Zip, Gzip, Bzip2, Tar, MS OLE2, MS Cabinet
files, MS CHM (Compressed HTML), MS SZDD
* built-in support for mbox, Maildir and raw mail files
* built-in support for Portable Executable files compressed with UPX, FSG,
and Petite

For scanning to work you'll need a virus database. You have 2 alternatives:
* clamav-freshclam: updates the database from Internet. This is
recommended if you have Internet access.
* clamav-data: for users without Internet access. Isn't updated at all
once it's installed. You can easily create your own updated package from
an Internet connected computer however, using clamav-getfiles.
It never seems to scan everything like the Microsoft ones do and not a clue how to test it. All loaded up with the synaptic package manager and about as clear as mud to me. Any info on what I should do with it would be great.
