Help With Wiring up new Light in En-Suite

by Ricaspden » Wed Nov 01, 2017 10:29 am

Hi
New to DIY and after successfully changing a few lights in my house I've take down the light in my en-suite and can't figure out what to do!
It is a light with connected extractor fan that I pull a chord for them to both come on at the same time. When I've connected them to my new light the light is permanently on and the pull chord just turns the extractor fan on and off! The two wires that were going into the rose labelled 'loop' on the rose I have just connected together in a fourth part of the connector. Attached is a photo of the rose I have taken down and a photo of what it now look like without light on. Any help much appreciated! I have put the yellow tape on the red and black cable so I knew which ones were connected to loop.
