Hollow core PVC shower panels - how strong?

by Dw4480 » Thu Dec 07, 2023 11:28 pm

I want to attach 2 grab handles and a fold-down seat with legs onto PVC hollow core shower panels on an external bathroom wall.

The internet seems to think this is fine. Is it? If so, what if anything, do I need to do extra? I was told by one source that spacers are the answer. If so, is there a problem with sealing?

Thanks

Hi dw4480,
Unfortunately all hollow core wall panels are not equal.
You may be successful with the grab handles if they have a large back plate so start with these. You will be very lucky if the seat does not crush the panels on the lower edge of whatever plates hold it on the wall, so try and fit one with a fixing plate larger than the seat itself.
