Home wiring

Post by Mike G Philip » Tue Mar 20, 2007 8:58 am

I thought I had an isue with light bulbs blowing but your comprehensive article I found on the subject allayed my fears. Also, I had my old fuse board replaced with an MCB about 3 years ago and so, of course, the problem seems worse as I have to go to the garage to reset it every time a bulb goes !
Another question, though: there are two other things that happen:
1) lights sometimes flicker very slightly for a second when there is a
surge (e.g. kettle switching off), and
2) The downstairs TV sometimes shows interference when we run the paper shredder upstairs.
Are these phenomena normal ?
Thanks,
Mike
